The client brief
What they came with.
ValueBox came with a clear goal and a complex execution challenge. They needed a store capable of housing 100,000-plus products across 15+ categories — from fashion and electronics to home goods and stationery — serving a Pakistani audience where cash on delivery is the dominant payment method and mobile browsing is the primary shopping channel. The store needed to feel credible, browse easily, and convert at the checkout without requiring card payment commitment.

Our approach
The decisions behind the build.
The architecture decision was a hierarchical category system with sub-category depth, so users could navigate from broad to specific without getting lost. The homepage was built as a promotional engine: a marquee ticker cycling trust signals, rotating hero banners for active campaigns, and a Budget Buy tier system (Under Rs.99, Rs.299, Rs.999, Rs.1499) to capture price-sensitive browsers at their spend ceiling. COD was positioned as the default and primary trust signal throughout the checkout flow — not buried in the footer.
What we built
The systems that made it work.
FIG 0.1
15-category product architecture
Structured taxonomy covering Baby, Kids, Men, Women, Electronics, Mobile, Home & Lifestyle, Books, Organic, Stationery, Automotive, Sports, Furniture, Crockery, and Laptops — each with subcategory depth and filtered navigation.
FIG 0.2
COD-first checkout
Cash on delivery positioned as the default payment method with trust indicators (Trusted by 150,000+ customers, Easy Return & Refund Policy) on the cart and checkout pages — removing the payment anxiety that blocks conversion in the Pakistan market.
FIG 0.3
Flash sale engine
Product-level countdown timers and sale badge system with percentage savings displayed prominently on listing and product pages — reusable as a campaign engine for monthly promotional cycles.
FIG 0.4
Recommendation system
Recommended For You and Exclusive For You sections surfacing products based on browsing and purchase behaviour — increasing basket discovery without requiring active search.
FIG 0.5
Budget Buy tier landing pages
Four price-tier landing pages (Rs.99, Rs.299, Rs.999, Rs.1499) to capture price-motivated shoppers who know their spend limit but have not decided what to buy — converting intent into browsing.
FIG 0.6
Trust ticker and banner system
Marquee announcement bar cycling express delivery, 100K+ products, monthly deals, and Pakistan-wide delivery — paired with rotating hero banners carrying campaign-specific CTAs.

The CRO layer
How we made it convert.
Every store we build has a conversion layer baked in from day one — not retrofitted after launch. These are the specific tactics applied to this build.
Urgency indicators on product pages
X sold in last Y hours signals displayed on high-demand products create social proof and purchase urgency — without discounting. Converts the hesitant browser who needs a reason to act now.
Discount badge visibility in grid view
Percentage savings displayed as bold badges on listing cards make price drops immediately visible before a product page is opened — increasing click-through from category and search results.
COD trust signal at every stage
Cash on delivery explicitly confirmed on product pages, in the cart, and at checkout — removing the payment anxiety that is the single largest conversion killer in the Pakistan e-commerce market.
Budget tier browsing to reduce decision paralysis
Price-bucketed landing pages convert buyers who have a spend ceiling but no specific product in mind — removing the need to filter by price across 100K+ products.
“The COD-first architecture and Budget Buy tiers addressed how Pakistani shoppers actually think about online purchases — not how Western e-commerce assumes they do.”
